C6: Electrical Connection

Q1. Explain the difference between an open and closed circuit with an example.

Answer:

  • In an open circuit, the switch is open, so the path is incomplete. No current flows, and the bulb does not glow. Example: A light switch turned off.

In a closed circuit, the switch is closed, so the path is complete. Current flows, and the bulb glows. Example: A light switch turned on.
