C8: AI Basics – How Machines Learn and Help Us

Aim:

To recognize where AI is being used in everyday technologies and to understand its hidden role in helping humans.

Materials Required:

  • Notebook or worksheet

  • Pen or pencil

  • Smartphone or computer with internet access (optional for examples)

Steps:

Step 1: Observe Your Day

List five technologies or apps you’ve used since morning.
Examples: alarm clock, YouTube, Google Maps, mobile camera, online game, food delivery app, or shopping site.

Step 2: Identify the Smart Ones

Mark which of them might use AI.
Ask yourself:

  • Does it learn or improve with use?

  • Does it make smart suggestions?

  • Does it recognize faces, voices, or preferences?
