Definition

Pre-flight Check

The process of inspecting the drone, batteries, sensors, and surroundings before flight.

Takeoff Zone

The clear, open area where the drone begins its flight.

Landing Zone

The designated safe area for the drone to land. It should be flat and obstacle-free.

Obstacle Avoidance

A safety feature or pilot behavior that prevents collisions with trees, buildings, or people.

Failsafe Mode

A safety setting that tells the drone what to do if it loses signal—like return to home (RTH) or auto-landing.

Wind Speed Limit

The maximum wind speed a drone can handle without losing stability.

Team Coordination

Communication between pilots, spotters, and safety assistants to ensure safe flight operations.
