C9: Drone Mission Planning & Calibration

Aim:

To explore how drones solve real-world problems and inspire new ideas for community service.

Materials:

  • Short videos or case studies (examples: Zipline medical delivery drones, disaster mapping, or flood rescue missions)

  • Reflection worksheet or chart paper

  • Markers or pens

Steps:

Step 1 – Watch & Observe:
Watch short video clips or read case studies showing how drones are used in healthcare, disaster response, and the environment.

Step 2 – Group Discussion:
Discuss with your classmates:

  • What was the problem?

  • How did the drone help solve it?

  • What was the benefit for humans or the environment?

Step 3 – Record Insights:
List three benefits drones bring to society on your worksheet or chart.

Step 4 – Reflect & Create:
Write a short paragraph describing how you would use a drone to help your school, city, or community.
(Optional: Sketch your drone idea.)
