A place to turn knowledge into something that works.
Kalinga Fab Lab brings prototyping infrastructure and guided innovation activity to Jajpur. Public activity reports describe a space where students submit ideas, form project teams and develop concepts across robotics, drones, mobility and assistive technology.
The lab sits in a district shaped by both rural communities and the Kalinganagar industrial corridor. That makes hands-on technical capability especially valuable: learners can connect STEM practice with real manufacturing, agriculture and community challenges around them.
Capabilities built around making.
Robotics & IoT
Building connected and automated systems with sensors, controllers and mechanical parts.
Drone technology
Exploring aerial systems and use cases relevant to agriculture, inspection and public service.
Prototype fabrication
Turning promising ideas into physical demonstrations for review and improvement.
Idea mentoring
Helping young makers articulate a problem, present a concept and organise a build team.
The intended outcomes
- Grow local confidence in advanced making technologies
- Move student ideas into visible working prototypes
- Connect education with the region's industrial and community context
